Efia Odo recounts how she unknowingly dated an ex-convict who took her on a date in a stolen vehicle

Ghanaian socialite and actress, Efia Odo has narrated how she ended up being chased by the police while she was with her boyfriend in a vehicle back in the US longtime ago.
According to her the incident occurred during her stay in New York while she was on a date with her boyfriend at the time.
They had crossed the red traffic light and was prompted by the police to stop the vehicle to be given a ticket for traffic violation.
However, her boyfriend refused to stop the vehicle leading to a hot chase by four police vehicles. She said when she enquired from her boyfriend why he did not stop the vehicle to receive the ticket, he told her she was in a stolen vehicle.
According to her, her boyfriend eventually slowed down and ran out of the car leaving her behind. She was then accosted by the police and given past crimes of her boyfriend, at that point she realised she was with an ex-convict.
Efia said she was young at the time, hence was not prosecuted by the police.
“There was this one time I was dating this guy and we were going on a date. We were in his car driving; this is back in New York and he crossed the red light and the police tried to stop us to give us a ticket and he didn’t want to stop the car. I was like stop the car, why won’t you stop the car?
“He said no, I can’t stop and the car and I’m like why? He said the car is stolen I was in a stolen car with this guy and I didn’t know he was an ex-convict and I didn’t know anything
“So he didn’t stop the car, he kept driving and now one police car became four police cars. He eventually slowed down, hopped out of the car and left me in the car…I got arrested and they gave me a breakdown of who this guy was. He was wanted for attempted robbery and so many things but I was young so they didn’t really keep me,” she narrated.
